Littlest, That's Me!

Something HUGE happened!

I was kind of surprised, but very excited when Dr. V, at a regular, boring follow-up, told me the big news.

I had to  meet with a couple more doctors, and be really sure to not get sick. Then I went into the hospital, which was a little weird because I wans't used to going into the hospital when I was feeling GREAT!

I went in really early one morning, saw both my doctors, and then had a bronchoscopy in the OR. A bronchoscopy is where they look at my airway and lungs with a camera on a flexible wand. After that, I came up to see my friends on the hospital floor, and a couple hours later. my friend Dr. R came in . . .

and let me take out. . .

MY TRACH!

I am SO happy1 It has been a bit of an adjustment for me to start sleeping with a cannula instead of the ventilator, but I love it. I will still be having surgery to repair my airway, but for now it's GREAT having fewer accessories!

I had another Surgery!

Medical Adventures

I had a major spinal surgery in December of 2023, and have had a much quieter year than I did last year.

I am so excited to finish Middle School this year, and I hope to join some adaptive sports this school year.

PS: This is our new dog, Pippin. He's in training to alert for oxygen levels! He loves when I throw the ball for our big dog, Theo, because he can steal the ball from Theo and make Theo run for another one! He also loves taking naps in my lap and cuddling me and my mom.

2023 CMN Ambassador

Meeting friends and influencing places. . .

I had so much fun going to some of my favorite places as the CMN Ambassador for Valley Children's Hospital! See below for some of my favorite pics!

My Giants Trip

Where I got to meet my Favorite Player

My favorite baseball player and his wife, Brandon and Haylee Belt, helped get me to a San Francisco Giants game.

My Story

Knock-knock!

Who's there?

Who.

Who who?
What are you, an owl?

I love telling jokes. It's one of my favorite ways to meet new friends. I have a *lot* of friends, because I'm always meeting new ones at the hospital, where I've spent a lot of time since I was born. I was born with a severe spinal malformation that affected my ability to breathe and walk. I have had a lot of surgeries, but I don't really mind. Once you've had a few, having more doesn't bother you. I've had over 30, so I'm a pro at having surgery! One of those surgeries gave me my tracheostomy tube to help me breathe, we call it a trach, and you'd never know now that it affected my ability to talk for years. (Just ask me to tell you a joke to prove it!)

I love spending time with my family. Aside from my parents, I have a brother and a sister and a lot of pets. We spend a lot of time together, and nothing makes me happier than watching a baseball game with my entire family *including* the dogs.
